Adams 12 Five Star Schools Annual Art Show

Congratulations!

Mountain View had 33 artists whose artworks were on display at the TASHCO gallery, April 7 -14. An awards ceremony will be held May 12 at Horizon High School for our award winners; Francis Abila 2^nd Grade, Joseph Borman 4^th Grade, and Ethan Kissell 1^st Grade.

What is C.H.O.I.C.E. Based Art?

C.H.O.I.C.E. stands for Children Having Original, Individual, Creative Experiences. The new art program at Mountain View Elementary is based on the principles and practices of the nationally recognized and researched “Choice Based Art Education” and “The Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) Partnership”. The idea is simple: Students are the artists and the classroom is their studio. Children are offered real choices for responding to their own ideas and interests, through making art. When given the chance to explore their own ideas, passions and interests, children often find greater meaning and relevance in their work.
